Angela Mancao, MSW, LSW is a licensed social worker who provides compassionate care to all she meets, striving to create a safe and comfortable environment for her clients to share their story and learn ways to improve their wellbeing. Angela understands that no two people are the same or experience the same hardships, which is why she tailors treatment to best fit her clients’ needs and preferences. Some of the modalities she utilizes in her practice include cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, interpersonal therapy, motivational interviewing, play therapy and other expressive therapies. She collaborates with clients to ensure that their personal goals are met and highlights their strengths throughout treatment.
In 2016, Angela completed an internship at a care management organization in South Jersey, giving her a glimpse of the difficulties children and families experience and how to link them to resources that will provide assistance and support. In the following year, she completed an internship program at a community mental health organization in Camden, NJ where she worked with adults who experienced depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, substance abuse, low self-esteem, and life stressors.
Angela received her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University, completing an area of emphasis in mental and behavioral health. For her undergraduate studies, she graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Health Counseling.
She is also interested in photography, crafting (guided by the helpful artists that post on Pinterest), traveling, hiking, and being in the company of loved ones.
In her own words, “Seeking help and striving for change can be difficult. Looking for the right therapist for you is a courageous first step! I am honored to be a part of your journey towards improvement, wellness, and healing.”
