Carey Gatti is a Therapist-Intern with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rider University. She will obtain her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from The College of New Jersey in May 2018. Carey has a passion for helping youth overcome challenges while discovering and building upon their existing strengths.
Combining eight years of experience in working with children and adolescents in various settings with a compassionate, integrated approach to counseling, Carey assists clients in achieving optimal well-being. It is her belief that through age appropriate, individualized services which foster emotional literacy, positive self-talk, and skill building, her clients can improve their self-esteem, build resilience, enjoy more fulfilling relationships, and live happier, healthier lives.
Carey also has vast experience working with individuals with special needs and believes in the power of creativity in therapy, such as through the use of play, art, music, and movement. In her free time, Carey enjoys spending time with loved ones including her two dogs, reading, and spending time outdoors. She is an avid animal lover and advocate and hopes to one day obtain a certification in animal-assisted therapy.
